In addition to CCEDC-administered funding, here are additional grants and resources available at the state, regional, and federal level.

While not facilitated directly through our office, these grant programs may be a fit for your project. We encourage you to explore and apply directly.

Main Street Matters Program

The Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development's Main Street Matters (MSM) program provides funding to support downtown cores and surrounding neighborhoods, with a focus on creating healthy, vibrant, and welcoming communities.

Potential projects include:

  • Planning activities and strategies
  • Façade improvement programs
  • Business improvement grant programs
  • Accessible housing programs
  • District development and physical improvement projects

Eligible applicants include municipalities and counties, redevelopment and housing authorities, nonprofit and economic development organizations, community development corporations, and certain business, neighborhood, and downtown improvement districts.

Carbon County Open Space Grant Program

The Carbon County Board of Commissioners is excited to announce the opening of the 2026 Fall Round of the Carbon County Open Space Grant Program. The Open Space Grant Program can provide funding to municipalities and pre-qualified land trust organizations to preserve land that protects wildlife habitat, water resources, and forests. Land Trust organizations and Carbon County Municipalities are the only eligible applicants to apply for funding from this program.

Carbon County Agricultural Conservation Easement Purchase Program

The Agricultural Conservation Easement Purchase Program allows eligible farmers to voluntarily sell the development rights to their land while retaining ownership and continuing to farm it, helping permanently preserve working farmland from non-agricultural development.

The Food Trust’s Pennsylvania Fresh Food Financing Initiative (PA FFFI)

The Food Trust’s Pennsylvania Fresh Food Financing Initiative is a statewide public-private financing program funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development that helps business owners open or expand healthy grocery outlets in low- to moderate-income communities throughout the commonwealth.

The program provides grants, technical assistance, and financing connections to nonprofit, for-profit and cooperative food businesses that help increase access to healthy, affordable food and improve economic opportunities for residents of urban, suburban and rural areas of Pennsylvania. Awards range from $5,000 - $200,000.

The Kittatinny Ridge Conservation Landscape (KRCL) Mini-Grant Program

The Kittatinny Ridge Conservation Landscape (KRCL) Mini-Grant Program is now accepting applications for the 2026 funding cycle. This annual grant program provides awards ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 to support projects that advance conservation goals across the Kittatinny Ridge Conservation Landscape.

Funding is available for projects that protect natural resources, strengthen community connections, support local conservation initiatives, and encourage research. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, municipalities, counties, authorities, and educational institutions with projects located within or benefiting the KRCL.

Please note that KRCL Mini-Grants cannot be used as matching funds for other Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR)-funded projects.
